Gordon F. VanBuren Jr., 68, a longtime Beacon/Wappinger resident, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2018. He was born on March 21, 1950 in Cold Spring, NY, son of the late Gorden F. VanBuren Sr. & Shirley (Zeliph) VanBuren. Gordon worked for 22-years as a pressman at the Nabisco plant in Beacon, until retiring. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, and truly loved being a ‘Poppy' to his grandchildren. On July 12, 1980 in Wappingers Falls, he married SallyAnn M. Eagan, who survives at home. Along with his wife of 38-years, Gordon is survived by his 2 daughters: Christine (Ruben) Johnson and Tracey (VanBuren); and his 2 step-sons, Carl (Valerie) Barker Jr., and Thomas Barker. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Anthony (Kaitlin), Devin (Karolina), Morgan, Ashley, Hannah, Brian, Christa, Brittany and Kevin; and his great-grandson John Ortiz. He was predeceased by his sister Darlene Carbonaro. His family will gather with friends on Saturday, September 15th from 1-3pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Ave., Beacon, where a celebration of Life will be offered at 2:30pm.
