Julio Velazquez

Julio Velazquez, Sr of Wappingers Falls, NY, formerly of Puerto Rico, entered into rest Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 80 years old. Born July 25, 1932 in Yabucoa, PR, he was the son of the late Bartolome Velazquez and Dolores Acosta. Mr. Velazquez was a retired Senior Operator, for IBM, East Fishkill, NY. On July 11, 1957 in Yabucoa, PR he married Dionisia Medina, Mrs. Velazquez preceded him in death December 7, 2006. Survivors include his sister: Antera Velazquez. His seven children: Hilda Cuello, Nidia Vandermark and her husband Isaac, Carmen Olivieri and her husband Paul, Julio Velazquez Jr., Angelica Snowman and her husband Howard, Angel Velazquez Sr. and his wife Denise, and Joby Velazquez. His grandchildren: Gracie, Ralph, Adrienne, Angel Jr., Jeffrey, Aaron, Angel, and Isaac Jr. His great grandchildren: Angelica, Edwin, Tiffany, Samson, Joshua, Cameron, Joshua, and Olivia, as well as the family pet Maxwell. His family remembers his fondness for playing his guitar and singing. Visitation will be held today, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave, Beacon, NY. Graveside services will be held Monday March 11, at 11:00 am in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Jarett D.
