Robert McNair

Robert Lee Thomas "Cowboy" McNair Sr., 78 entered into rest on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his home in Wallkill, NY. He was born on April 10, 1940 in Moore County, NC son of the late Tracy and Lessie McNair. On October 18, 1960, he married Gloria Williamson in Beacon, NY, where they raised their family. Robert "Cowboy" McNair was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah and Teterboro, NJ where he retired after 37 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was one of the co-founders of the Fisherman's Net Club of Beacon, NY. After retirement he became a full time fisherman making his own lures. His love of fishing inspired people to fish. He was a "fisherman of men". Robert is survived by his brother Lenny McNair of Walden, NY, his children Robert and his wife Harriet; Terrence and his wife Susan, his sons Craig and Curtis McNair, his daughter Gloria McNair and her companion Janeil and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his wife Gloria McNair and his sons James and Rodney McNair. He was and will be always remembered as an amazing husband, father & grandfather. Family & friends will gather on Wednesday, December 26, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Maddie Cooper Sq., Beacon, where the Home-Going Service will be held at 12 Noon, followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, NY.
