Ann Elizabeth Benevento, a longtime Hudson Valley resident, late of Fishkill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY at the age of 78. Ann was born in Manhattan, NY on February 14, 1944, daughter of the late Harry Joseph and Anna (Stoutenburgh) Netterwald. Ann graduated from Cathedral High School, class of 1961.
Having worked at many places in the Hudson Valley, she retired from the IBM Plant in East Fishkill, NY in 1993. Upon retirement, she was a homemaker; enjoyed being a loving mother and spending time spoiling her grandsons. She loved a good puzzle, be it a jigsaw or a Sudoku.
Ann is survived by her two children: Daniel Sullivan and his wife Claudine; Kelly Meeker and her partner James McGovern. Her grandsons: Sean Meeker (Kait Cunningham), Kevin Meeker, Tommy Sullivan (Kayla Peace), and Kiernan Sullivan. Ann was blessed to enjoy her last year with her great-grandson Nolan Meeker. She is survived by her four sisters and one brother: Mary Meyers, Carol Connor (Gerard Connor), Joan Morrow, Barbara Netterwald and Johnny Netterwald. Ann also leaves behind several nephews, one niece and their families.
Along with her parents Harry and Anna, she was predeceased by her brother Harry Netterwald, as well as her sister-in-law Patty Ann Netterwald and brothers-in-law Eugene Morrow and Jerry Meyers.
Her family will welcome friends on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 3-7PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon to celebrate her life. A prayer service will be offered at 6:00PM.
