Anthony James Musacchio, affectionately known as ‘Chubs’, a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh; he was 88-years old. He was born in Beacon, NY on November 30, 1934, son of the late James & Carmella (Encarnotti) Musacchio. Anthony attended Beacon City Schools, and enlisted in the United States Navy; he served during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1955, and received an honorable discharge for his service.
On June 24, 1956 at St. Joseph Church in Lynn, MA, he married Nancy Ann Whitmore, who survives him at home. They were communicants of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon for many years.
Anthony worked over 35-years at the IBM Plant in Poughkeepsie, as a department technician, until his retirement.
‘Chubs’ was a member for over 50-years of St. Rocco’s Society, when he became a member with his brother Carmen. He was also a longtime beloved member of the Beacon Elks Lodge 1493, always enjoyed the fellowship there.
He was an avid golfer, and fan of Arnold Palmer. He also was an avid bowler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He also was a fan of the NY Yankee and the NY Giants.
Along with his wife Nancy of 66-years of marriage, Anthony is survived by his four children: Dawn (Louis) D’Auria, Michael Musacchio, Anthony C. (Ivona) Musacchio, Troy (Kathy) Musacchio. His grandchildren: Marc (Rachel) D’Auria, Allan, Stephen, Anthony J. ‘AJ’, Steven, Matthew (Zully), Konrad (Annette) Majchrzak. His great-grandchildren, Sophia D’Auria, Klara, Leandro, Alejandro & Mateo. He is also survived by one brother, James Musacchio; and several nieces & nephews.
Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Carmen Musacchio and sister, Patricia Wolfe-Mastro.
His Family will receive Friends on Sunday, March 12th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11am, Monday, March 13th at St. Joachim Church 51 Leonard Street, Beacon, followed by military honors rendered by the U.S. Navy.
