Augustine Arquilla

Arquilla, Augustine ‘Augie’ J. of Beacon, entered into rest Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his residence. He was 97. Born April 10, 1918 in Beacon, he was the son of the late Valentine and Anna Pomarico Arquilla. On May 12, 1947 in St. Joachim’s Church, Beacon, he married Marion McDonald who predeceased him April 18, 1995. Augie was a retired Court Clerk for the Dutchess County Surrogate’s Court, Poughkeepsie. He was a 4th Degree Knight, Trinity Council Knights Of Columbus #445, a member of the Beacon Elk’s Lodge #1493, and a former member of Chandler Drum and Bugle Corp., Beacon, and a member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Beacon. Survivor’s include: his son, Gary Arquilla and his companion Michelle Brickley of Beacon, a sister, Gerry Arquilla of Beacon, a granddaughter, Arika Arquilla of Pine Bush, two sisters-in-laws, Dee Arquilla and Jean Arquilla, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent and Joseph Arquilla, and two sisters, Anna Penzetta and Mary Fischer. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 4, at 11:00 am at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church 51 Leonard St. Beacon. Interment will follow St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Beacon.
