Aurea Ramirez

Aurea Ramirez, a longtime Beacon resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 11, 2024; at the age of 87. She was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico on May 6, 1937, daughter of the late Antonio Ramirez Vargas and Julia Vega Mercado.

Aurea enjoyed a lot of things during her life, particularly enjoyed music, dancing, knitting; she loved to play Dominoes. She also had a deep Faith, and loved Church.

Aurea is survived by her four children: Madeline Castro, Jose Velez, Evelyn Velez and Nilsa Gallagher; her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters: Vivian Castro and Irma Ramirez.

Along with her parents, Aurea was predeceased by three brothers, one sister, and sadly her granddaughter Marisol Rivera.

Her Family & Friends will gather to remember & celebrate her Life on Saturay, August 17th, from 12NOON to 2PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a service will be offered followed by interment to Fairview Cemetery, 375, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
