Brian Gilmour, formerly of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Beacon, NY; at the age of 68. He was born in The Bronx, NY on October 31, 1955, son of the late William & Dorothy (Miloscia) Gilmour. He graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle, NY.
Brian had a long history of over 30 years with the Carvel Ice Cream business. For the last 20 of those years, he was the manager and co-owner of the Carvel Shop on Tremont Avenue in the Bronx, NY, then retired.
Brian enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. He loved music, from Beatles to Rush and many more. He collected rock memorabilia and obtained over 1,500 CDs over the years. He was an avid sports fan; Brian loved the NY Yankees, NY Rangers and NY Giants.
Brian is survived by his beloved brother and sister: William ‘Bill’ Gilmour and his wife Nelda; Victoria Gilmour and her wife Marge. He is survived by a niece and three nephews: Jessica (Mark) Eckerson, Eric Gilmour, Paul (Ariana) Gilmour, Alex Gilmour. And even two great-nieces & two great-nephews: Laurel, Lily, Craig and Jackson. Brian is also survived by several cousins from the Miloscia, Collins, Bucala, and Ficcarrota families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11AM on Tuesday, December 19 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, New York, followed by interment at St. Raymond Cemetery, the Bronx, New York. His Family & Friends will gather from 9-10:30AM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for any memorial donation to be made in Brian’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
