Carole A. Atwell

Carole A. Atwell, a longtime Beacon resident, passed peacefully in her sleep on August 28, 2024 at the NYS Veterans Home in Montrose, NY; at the age of 81. She was born in Queens, NY on July 9, 1943, daughter of the late Frank & Sally (Aloisio) Vassallo, and also her step-mother, the late Armenia 'Mae' Vassallo. 

On February 2, 1964 in Ozone Park, Queens, NY, she married Robert Anthony Atwell, who predeceased her after 50-years of marriage on February 25, 2014.

She worked for many years as a bookkeeper, and last for the BMW of Hudson Valley dealership in Poughkeepsie, NY; until she retired. She enjoyed many things like visiting the casinos and solving her puzzle books. She loved being with her family, especially her grandsons.

Carole is survived by her two sons Robert A. Atwell Jr., Kevin Atwell, and her daughter-in-law Kimberly Pilla; Her two grandsons, Robert John Atwell and Jackson Donald Atwell. She is also survived by her brother Richard ‘Rick’ Vassallo, and several nieces & nephews.

Her Family will receive Friends on Saturday, August 31 from 11AM to 1PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a service will be offered at 1PM followed by interment to St. Joachim Cemetery, 325 Washington Avenue, Beacon, NY.
