Charles ‘Honey’ Williams was born on January 2, 1953, in Warren, OH. Charles was called to his heavenly home on September 28, 2021, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded at home with his loved ones. Charles was the son of the late Johnny and Annie Mae (Washington) Williams.
Charles was raised in Georgetown, SC. He was educated in the South Carolina School System; graduating in 1971 from Choppee High School in Georgetown, SC. Charles has worked at Ford Motor Company, Arlington Schools and Yellow Freight Bus Companies before purchasing his own truck. He went onto become an Independent Contractor for Jevic Transportation and Mercer Transportation. He always wanted to be his own boss. He loved driving over the road, until his illness prevented him from doing so. Driving was his passion.
Charles met and married Sharon Minard on June 28, 1975, to this union one child Kareema Rashida was born.
Charles leaves to cherish fond memories, his daughters Kareema Dale (Damian), La Fonda Haynes, Natasha Smith, and A’Keisha Gore; 14 Grandchildren: Cameron, Alexis, Suriyah, Davonaire, Darius, Na’ima, Na’ryah, Khalid, Tyrone, Deria, Deja, Carl, Christasia, James and 7 great grandchildren. Two sisters: Ruby Simmons (Louis), Johnnie Mae Blacknall (William 'Hicks'). One brother; Benjamin Williams. Sister in laws; Barbara Williams, Denise Williams, & Ann Williams. His ex-wife Sharon Minard, special friend Martha Session. Special devoted friends, Mike, “Gambler”, “Rattlesnake”, “Gumbo”, and Fred Parker. Along with a host of nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Cecil Williams and Richard Williams; his special nephew Jeroy Williams and his niece Sophie Simmons. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
His Family & Friends will gather on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 2-4pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a home-going service will be offered at 4pm followed by a private interment at the discretion and convenience of his family.
