McCasland, Clarence Edgar of Beacon, NY, formerly of Redford, NY, entered into rest Friday, October 26, 2012 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY; he was 87. Born December 23, 1924 in Redford, he was the son of the late Edgar and Ursula Bissonette McCasland. Clarence was a retired foreman for Nabisco, Beacon. After his retirement he worked for Sears Parts Store and Ketcham Motors, Fishkill. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Infantry, and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joachim’s-St. John’s Church Beacon. On February 14, 1953, he married Cecilia Pavlick. Mrs. McCasland predeceased him on December 4, 2007. Survivors include a son James McCasland of Ulster Park, NY: a daughter Judy and her husband Gary Banks of Beacon: six grandchildren: Victoria and her husband Dean Lyons of Charlotte, NC, Xavier McCasland and his significant other Melissa Cardone of Kingston, Tyson McCasland and his fiancé Jodie Esposito of Esopus, Aaron McCasland of Rhinebeck, Aileen Banks of Beacon, and Caroline Banks of Beacon: two sisters: Florence Racette of East Amherst, NY and Rita LaRose of Dannemora, NY; a special niece, Bernadette Frost; as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a twin brother who passed at birth, and a sister, Rose Burnah. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY 12508. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 2, at 10:30 am at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, 57 Leonard Street, Beacon, NY. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Beacon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joachim’s-St. John’s Church, 2 Oak Street, Beacon, NY 12508, or to the McClelland Home for Adults, P.O. Box 308, Beacon, NY 12508.
