David Randolph Chandler

David Randolph Chandler, a resident of the Montrose Veterans (VA Hudson Valley Healthcare) Hospital in Montrose, NY, died on July 27, 2023 at the New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor; at the age of 73. He was born in the St. Michael on the Island of Barbados, son of the late Randolph Chandler and Nerissa Rosenhfold.

David immigrated to the United States in the early-1960s. On November 25, 1968 in New York, NY he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served during the Vietnam War as an E-1 Seaman Recruit (SR); receiving the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM). He received an honorable discharge for his service on January 17, 1969 at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL.

David migrated back to the New York area, where he lived for many years. He worked as a laborer in various different jobs, until he settled on retirement.

Unfortunately, David does not leave any immediate family surviving him and to mourn his loss, only one cousin; he was predeceased by his parents.

He was entrusted to the professional care of the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, New York; to provide an honorable and dignified veteran burial. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard on Monday, October 9, 2023 11:00AM at the Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY 11933.
