DELCYE PAGE BUNDY- of Beacon With her devoted son at her side and surrounded by her loving family and friends, Delcye Page Bundy took her place among the angels on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie after a brief illness. She was 76. A lifelong area resident, Delcye was born in Wiccopee (Town of East Fishkill) on June 26, 1935 to the late Rev. Edgar and Cornelia Hill Bundy. She was educated in Beacon schools and was employed at Tuck/Tesa Tape in Beacon and Middletown for 35 years. After her retirement, Delcye worked in Beacon at the soup kitchen and as a dispatch clerk with the Martin Luther King Cultural Center. Delcye was in several bowling leagues and also enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, taking road trips, going to Monticello and spending time with her family and friends. She was an extraordinary cook and was also known for her keen wit and "telling it like it is." Delcye is survived by her son and best friend, Dwayne E. Pruitt of Beacon, with whom she resided; step-daughter Deanna Pruitt of Columbus, OH; stepsons Daniel W. Pruitt of Atlanta, GA and David E. Pruitt and his wife Dorothy of Newburgh; grandchildren Billy, David, Lauren, Dennis, Daniel and Douglas Pruitt; great-grandchildren Fiona, Serenity, Lila, Violet and Carter; special cousins Maxine Ware and William Penn; sisters-in-law Alice Bundy and Virginia "Shane" Humphrey; nieces Marcia and Savona Roberts, Yolanda Stephens, Doralene Kilgore Williams and Allison Travis; nephews Launcelot Hill and Jason Bundy; dear friend Julia "Tookie" Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Delcye was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Bundy Hill, Mary Louise Miller-Ware and Hermie Kilgore; brothers James and Edgar (Clint) Bundy; and longtime companion Daniel E. Pruitt, Jr. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 11:00am until noon at Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Mattie Cooper Square, Beacon, NY followed by a homegoing service at noon. The Rev. Dr. Richard P. Butler of Central Baptist Church in Salt Point will officiate. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
