Edith Victoria Vallejo Peña "Edie" 91, of Beacon has passed away on March 4, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Edith worked for many years as a secretary; and also worked for Crescent Lingerie in Peekskill as a seamstress. She was a communicant of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Beacon. Edith was born on December 23, 1929 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Her surviving siblings are Papito of Montreal, Chuchu, Lourdes, Jose and Enrique all from Santo Domingo. She leaves behind 3 granddaughters Allyssia, Alexandria & Allenna Peña all from Beacon; her 4 great grandchildren Janessa, Adelynn, Averie & Jeremiah. Extended Family includes her daughter-in-law Lisa Rivera and her 4 kids that Edie loved like her own Desiree, Destiny, Robert (predeceased) and Katerina; as well as many nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Horacio Vallejo Leguizamon and Mencia Botello Tamariz, her husband Obdulio Peña, her son Manuel Peña, and her sister Amelia. To know her was to love her. Her Family will gather on Wednesday, March 10th from 9-11AM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, from there; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30AM, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon, followed by interment in St. Joachim Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
