Elizabeth Williamson Briggs, affectionately known as ‘Libby’, a longtime resident of Beacon and recently of Schenectady, NY; was Called Home to the Lord on April 9, 2024 at the Ellis Hospital; at the age of 81. She was born in Beacon, NY on March 9, 1943, daughter of the late Herbert & Frances (Littlejohn) Williamson. She attended the Beacon City Schools.
Elizabeth worked for many years in housekeeping at the Harlem Valley (Wassaic) Psychiatric Hospital in Dover, NY; until she retired.
‘Libby’ had a love for puzzles, and her Faith. She was a recent member of the Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in Schenectady; where she was proudly baptized.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Todd Williamson and Tracy (Angela) Williamson; her daughter Cheri Frances Williamson; daughter-in-law Tonya Williamson; her sister Valerie Lunsford; her two brothers Theodore Gordon Williamson and Herbert Williamson Jr.. She is also survive by her 10 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by two sons, Troy Douglas Williamson and Theodore Gordon Williamson; her two sisters, Lorraine Gayle and Daisy Lunsford; her two brothers, Nathaniel and Jerome Williamson.
Her Family will receive Friends on Friday, April 19th from 9:30am to 11am at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY, where a Home-Going Ceremony will be offered 11am, followed by a private cremation.
