Esther Barrett

Barrett, Esther of Beacon, entered into rest Thursday, October 3, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Poughkeepsie surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Esther was born in Pawling, NY on November 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary O’dell. Esther was married to the late Daniel W. Barrett Jr., who predeceased her on October 8, 1978. Survivors include, four children, Daniel W. Barrett III (Patricia) of Bullgap, TN, Jean Cohen (Allen) of Poughkeepsie, William and Michael Barrett of Beacon, two sisters, Mary and Dorothy, two grandchildren, Mark Cohen and Brian Cohen (Megan) , two great-grandchildren, Evan and Colin Cohen, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Walter, and a sister, Ruth. The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Chernack, as well as Sue, Kristal, and Tom of Hospice. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, at 11:00 am at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, NY. Pastor Ben Larson-Wolbrink will officiate.
