Eva Bender

Bender, Eva, of Niskayuna, NY, a former longtime resident of Beacon, entered into rest Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, she was 80. Born September 1, 1931 in Alma Kamars, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Teresa Metz Ziegelbauer. On September 23, 1950 in Germany she married Vendel Bender. Mr. Bender survives at home. Eva was a retired Seamstress for Beacon Looms, she was also a member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church as well as the Women’s Parish Club, Beacon, and the Hudson Valley Artisan’s. In addition to her husband, Vendel Bender, survivors include three daughters Elizabeth Bender of CA, Jean and her husband Scott Del Porte of NH and Joan Bender and her husband Ken Lattrell of Howe’s Cave, NY. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 6 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY, where at 6:00 p.m. services wil take place. Rev. Marty Cartmell will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joachim’s Women’s Parish Club, Leonard St. Beacon, NY 12508.
