Florence Howell

Florence M. Howell died on November 25, 2015. Born on May 4, 1929 in Beacon, NY to Walter and Stella Pietrowski. Florence graduated from Beacon High School. She married John H. (Jack) Howell in 1958. She enjoyed a long career in the medical administration field at both the Mid-Hudson Medical Group and Castle Point Veterans Hospital. She was an avid bowler for many years, and took great pride in the academic, athletic and professional accomplishments of her family. She was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Beacon, NY. Florence was predeceased by her husband, John Howell, and her brother, Robert Pietrowski. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne and his wife Susan of Newtown, CT, and Jeffrey and his wife Kelly of Geneva, IL; her grandchildren Lauren, Katy, Emily and Jack; her sisters Evelyn Grzibowski of New Windsor, NY and Leona Schultheis of Beacon, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held, Sunday, November 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow St., Beacon, NY, followed by a private interment. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Hudson Valley Honor Flight (www.hvhonorflight.com), a non-profit organization created to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
