George Baltich, 84, a life-long Cold Spring resident passed away peacefully on November 27, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Born in Cold Spring, NY on September 4, 1937, he was the son of Michael & Nora (nee Durrick) Baltich. George was a graduate of Haldane High School class of 1955, and served in the US Army in Korea from 1956-1958. He was proud of his service to his country and loved the village of Cold Spring, which was only surpassed by his love for his family.
On June 25th, 1960, he married Jane Howell and they had a loving 61 years together. George retired after a 37 year career at IBM. He was a die-hard NY Football Giants fan and enjoyed his Saturday Morning Coffee get-togethers with his life-long friends at the Foundry Cafe in Cold Spring.
George is survived by his wife Jane, and three children: Laurie Baltich, Todd Baltich and his wife Leyla, Matt Baltich and his wife Meghan. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Katherine Baltich, Harrison Baltich and Bennett Baltich, his sister Joan Serino, and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his two brothers, Alex Baltich and Daniel Baltich, and his sister Helen Killmer.
