George Bradley Jr., 78, formerly of Brooklyn, NY and a resident of Beacon, NY and the Castle Point VA Hospital, passed away on August 3, 2020 at the Montefiore St. Luke's-Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was born in Aiken, South Carolina, son of the late George Bradley Sr. and Louise Mathis. George proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1963-1964, and was honorably discharge for his service. George worked for many years as a bridge operator for the NYC Bridges & Tunnels; spoke highly of his time at the Williamsburg Bridge connecting NYC with Brooklyn. George loved to smile, especially when he would have regular visitors while at the Castle Point VA Hospital; He most especially enjoyed those visits with his baby-sister Amanda and his nephews Kamil and Emanuel, and his great nieces & great nephews. George is survived by his two sisters and one brother: Amanda L. Stallings, Mae Doris White and Norris Bradley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews & friends. His Family will receive Friends on Monday, August 10th from 6-9pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon. A Home-Going Burial Service will be held at a later date upon arrival back to Aiken, SC; where he will be laid to rest with military honors at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
