George R. Oxley

George R. Oxley, a resident of Peekskill, NY, passed away on July 10, 2024 at the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare Facility in Montrose, NY; at the age of 82. He was born on June 21, 1942 in Panama City, Panama, son of the late Sam & Esther (Richards) Oxley.

George served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from August 21, 1967 to August 20, 1969, when he received his honorable discharge. He ranked a Sergeant E-5.

Upon discharge, George worked for many years as a correction officer and later he was a self-employed electrician, until he retired.

George leaves to cherish his memory, his niece Dawn R. Lacey-Giles and other extended family.

As per his wishes, he will be laid to rest alongside other United States Veterans, at the Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, Long Island, New York. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 12:00 Noon.
