Hector Tlatelpa-Diego, a lifelong Beacon resident was Called Home to God on February 20, 2024 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY; at the age 18. Hector was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on March 30, 2005, son of Pedro Tlatelpa and Cecilia Diego. Though he was severely handicapped from birth, without the ability to speak, Hector was able to light up the family & friends around him, as he touched so many that knew him.
Despite his disability, Hector was able to attend the Beacon City Schools, and was well-loved by many of his teachers and aides. He was a very bright, cheerful young boy; he also had a smile for everyone who greeted him. He loved listening to music.
Along with his devoted parents, Hector is survived by his brother Giovanni Tlatelpa; his maternal grandmother/abuela, Carmen Herrera, whom he always smiled when she came around. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents Alberto & Leticia Tlatelpa, and several aunts, uncle & cousins.
His Family & Friends will gather to remember and honor his Life on Monday, February 26th from 9-11AM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a prayer service will be offered 11AM, followed by interment to Fairview Cemetery 375 Washington Avenue, Beacon, NY.
