Williamson, Herbert Sr. of Beacon, entered into rest Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Wingate, Beacon. He was 91. Born August 20, 1923 in Brockway, NY, he was the son of the late Theodore and Alice Overby Williamson. Herbert was the widow of the late Frances Littlejohn Williamson. He was retired from Brockway Brick Yard and Dept. of Sanitation, Beacon. Herbert was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in WWII, and a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Beacon, he also was Inducted into the Gloden Gloves Hall of Fame, he also saved the life of his granddaughter, when she was a child, Glynnis Gayle Wynn from a house fire on 61 Beekman St. Beacon. Survivors include: four children, Theodore G. (Luan) Williamson of Seattle, WA., Elizabeth Williamson Briggs of Schenectady, Herbert Williamson Jr. of Presque Isle, ME. and Valerie Lunsford of Deluth, GA. one brother, Paul Williamson of Montrose, 30 grandchildren, Many great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, he was predeceased by four children, Lorraine Gayle, Daisy Marie Lunsford, Nathaniel Williamson and Jerome Williamson, a sister, Gladys Hawkins. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM at the VFW Beacon, 413 Main St. Beacon, NY. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Jarett D.
