Welch, Jerome W. of Pleasant Valley. I am sad to announce the passing of my father Jerome Winslow Welch. Dad was born on August 3, 1932 to Howard Welch and Hanna Freida Zuckman. He was 81 years old. Dad was born in Bronx, N.Y., he grew up in Cold Spring, N.Y. Dad was a Korean War Vet. He had a few interesting stories to tell about those years. Dad went to College and earned an Engineering Degree. He took that knowledge with him to Daystrom Electric Corp., where he met and married my mother Annie S. McDougal. They were married on April 20, 1957. Though they divorced mom & Dad remained friendly. Dad later went on to work for IBM and was an Engineer there. He retired in 1986. Dad never went back to work, but he tinkered with cars until he was no longer able. Dad had many hobbies. He liked to Fish & Shoot. My fondest memories are of mom, dad and I going fishing together. The tales got longer as the day wore on ! We went to West Point often and we shot targets together in many competitions. Dad remarried Arlene Mastroeni and had three more children from that union. Dad is survived by his daughters, Donna Welch by first wife, his daughter Michele Welch Craven, and sons Brian Mastroeni and Eric Welch, all by the second marriage. Also his sister Julia Oken and her three children, Michael, Carl and Wilda Oken.
