Joan Daddone

Joan M. Van Tassel Daddone, of Beacon, formerly of Wawarsing & Buchanan, entered into rest Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, Peekskill, she was 75. Born August 1, 1935 in Montrose, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Loretta Connolly Van Tassel. Joan had worked as a Lacquerer for Fairgate Rule in Cold Spring, she was an avid bowler, loved attending car shows and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include her four children, Edward Smith & his wife Kathy of Petersburg, NY, Donna & her husband Joseph Hicks of Beacon, Patricia & her husband Leonardo Ingles of Beacon and William Smith of Beacon. A stepson Pierre Hendrickson of Wawarsing. Her brother Joseph Van Tassel & his wife Hazel of Chelsea, her two sisters Gretta Van Tassel of Lake Peekskill and Paula & her husband Charles Roberts of Buchanan. Seven grandchildren; Robert, Jennifer, Laura, Jason, Peter, Alicia & Ernesto. 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her companion of 34 years Roland Hendrickson, four brothers Robert, Walter, David & Ralph Van Tassel, and by 2 great-granddaughters. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 22, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, where, at 3:30 pm funeral services will take place, with Father David Nolan officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc. Memorial & Honor Program, P.O.
