Lois Keller

Lois Keller a resident of Beacon, NY since 1980 died Tuesday January 4th at Saint Lukes Hospital. She was 86 years of age. Born in Waterluo, Ontario Canada on September 30, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Lee Allen and Alma Roth Gifford. She grew up and attended school in South Cayuga Ontario. She graduated from Toronto General Hospital as a RN. Ms Keller was a avid volunteer working at St Francis Hospital Auxiliary in Beacon as well as a number of other volunteer groups helping those in need. She loved traveling and travelled abroad extensively. She also loved square dancing, golf and gardening. She was a member of the Tioranda Garden Club, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beacon New York. In 1949 she married Norman D. Bruce and they had one child Catherine Laura. Mr. Bruce died in Mexico where he was buried in 1972. Mrs. Keller is survived by her daughter Catherine Laura and her husband Joseph Gordon of Gardiner, two sisters Majorie Havill of Stevensville, Ontario Canada and Alice Weston of Wappingers Falls, grandchildren Melissa Adele and her husband Gregory Gagne and Sarah Lois Traversey, great-grandchildren Mia Gagne and Piper Gagne all in Gardiner, New York. She will be sadly missed by friends and family and all who knew her. Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
