Luis Padua

Padua, Luis Galarza, a longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh. He was 82. Born November 17, 1930 in Anasco, PR, he was the son of the late Angel Galarza Lopez and Ignacia Ingles Padua. Mr. Padua was the former Pastor of the Church of God, Beacon, Truck Driver for Dorel Hat Factory, former employee of Chemical Rubber and Unico, Beacon. Survivors include his wife Haidee Soto Padua at home, his 12 children; Moises Galarza (Aurelia) of Newburgh, Luis A. Galarza (Valerie) of Beacon, Luis A. Galarza (Rhonda) of Beacon, Benny Galarza (Rose) of Beacon, Manuel Galarza (Athena) of Beacon, Abraham Galarza (Wendy) of Glenham, Alberto Soto (Larina) of Pleasant Valley, Nellie Timmons (Jeremy) of Cold Spring, Nancy Hallock (Dennis) of DE, Judy Rodriguez (Henry) of CT, Daniel Padua (Daisy) of Wallkill, and Mary Perez (Javier) of PR, four brothers; Juan Galarza, Israel Galarza, David Galarza, and Eddie Galarza, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Deizy Galarza, a brother Angel Galarza, and two sisters Julia Caraballo and Virginia Beltran. Visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2013, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Tabernacle of Christ Church 483 Main St. Beacon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 4, at 10:00 am at Tabernacle of Christ Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Beacon.
