Mary Strassberg

Strassberg Mary Ann Hawksby, of Beacon entered into rest with her family by her side, Saturday February 11, 2012 at St. Luke’s-Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, she was 68. Born February 20, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Katherine Morgan Hawksby. On February 18, 1967 in Brooklyn, NY, she married Mr. Erwin D. Strassberg. Mrs. Strassberg was a former dance teacher, and a tax preparer for R & G Brenner, Jefferson Valley, NY, she was also a member of The Oasis, Beacon. Survivors include her husband Erwin ‘Hodge’ D. Strassberg, her two children Stevan Raymond Strassberg & Lara Ann Acampora of Beacon. Five brothers; Joseph, Robert, Richard, Edward, and Donald Hawksby, two sisters; Virginia Damato and Josephine Arvelo, two granddaughters; Mia Isabel Acampora and Emmanuelle ‘Emmy’ Mae Carmine, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers; William D. and John R. Hawksby. Visitation will be held Tuesday February, 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave Beacon, NY. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday Feb. 15 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made for care of her disabled son Stevan Strassberg 73 Teller Avenue, Beacon.
