Nelson Rivera

Nelson Rivera, 70, a longtime Beacon resident, recently of Willimantic, CT, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2019. He was born on March 26, 1949 in Añasco, PR, son of the late Vidal Rivera and Amparo Osuba. Nelson is survived by his wife, Gloria Rodrigues; and his 6 children: Oneida Rivera, Nelson Rivera Jr., Marisol Rivera, William Rivera, Madeline Rivera and Nayely Rivera. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. Nelson was predeceased by 2 grandchildren. Nelson worked many years as a laborer, he was truly a hard-worker with a big heart. And when that golden heart stopped beating, and those hard-working hands were at rest; God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. His Family & Friends will gather on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon, followed by interment to St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
