Sensel, Richard Gene entered into rest Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, he was 76. Born June 10, 1936, in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Dr. Edward Eugene Sensel and Florence Ridel Sensel. Dick and his parents moved to Beacon, when he was 3 years old, and spent the rest of his happy life in Beacon. On September 5, 1965, Richard married Sandra Ann Karkota, she survives him at home. He graduated from Beacon High School in 1954, and then attended Ursinus University, PA for three years. During this time he worked part time for Texaco, Inc. in the summers from 1955-1958, he then became a full time employee in 1958 retiring in 1996, after 38 years. Richard was an active member of The Corvette Club of America, The Early Ford V8 Club of America, Mid-Hudson Driving Association (Horses), he was a member of Beacon Engine. He was also known for his many Corvettes, and Old Fords from 1932 to 1940. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra, his 5 cats, his cousins: Joanne and Tom Norton of Long Island, Mr. Constantine Homonchuk and Maggie Bach, Miss Amanda Norton, and many, many friends.
