Roger E. Chapman

Roger Eason Chapman, a resident of Newburgh, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Beacon, NY; at the age of 87. He was born Rome, New York on April 11, 1937.

Roger proudly served in the United States Navy, he enlisted on November 18, 1960 in Marietta, Georgia; he served as a hospital corpsman and radioisotopes technician. He served on the USS Sperry (AS-12), on which he ended his tour and received an honorable discharge in San Diego, California on March 17, 1966.

Unfortunately, Roger leaves no surviving family to mourn his passing. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Joseph J. Schuka and Staff at LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, New York 12508.

An Honorable Transfer for Burial will be lead on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, departing the Libby Funeral Home at 11:00AM and arriving at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924; where Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard at 12:00 NOON.
