Steven Frank Odom, a resident of New Windsor, NY and formerly of Ledyard, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care Medical Center in Montrose, NY; he was 62-years old. He was born at the Brooklyn Naval Hospital in St. Albans, Queens, NY on December 15, 1959, son of the late Steve B. & Margareta (Brandstetter) Odom.
He attended East Lyme High School in Niantic, CT. He served in the Connecticut National Guard during the Persian Gulf War. Steven later enlisted in the United States Army, where he also served during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Afterwards he received an honorable discharge for his service.
Steve worked as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, he loved hunting and fishing.
Steven is survived by his brother and sister, James E. Odom and Brigitta Winchester; his niece and nephew, Christine and Sean Winchester, and several other great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends.
Arrangements were entrusted for an honorable military service, to the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY. As per Steven's wishes, he will be laid to rest at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown CT, with military honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard, at a later date by the convenience of his family.
