Susan G. (Gomez) Beckett

Susan G. Beckett, a resident of Newburgh, NY and formerly of Beacon, passed away on January 10, 2022 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s-Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh; at the age of 69-years old. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 31, 1952, daughter of the late Luz Maria Gomez, her beloved mother.

Susan worked for 40-years as an engineering technician at the IBM plant in East Fishkill, NY until she retired.

She enjoyed a lot of hobbies, like sewing, quilting, crafts, and painting ceramics. She loved listening to music, especially Lionel Richie; he was her favorite. She loved salsa dancing and watching action movies. Mostly, she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, and showering them with her love.

Susan is survived by her 3 daughters and 1 son: Suzette (Kevin) Exum, Angelina Ortiz, Aleecia (Justin) Garrett and Allen Beckett (Angela Silva). Her 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and her sister Rosie Presti also survive her.

Her Family & Friends will gather to remember her Life on Saturday, January 15th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY, where a prayer service will be offered at 12 Noon followed by interment to the Fairview Cemetery, 375 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
