Walter Baxter

Baxter, Walter H. Jr., 60, a resident of Beacon all of his life, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, Saturday, April 6, 2013. Son of the late Walter H. Baxter Sr. & Dorothy Porreca, born in Beacon on October 19, 1952. On April 14, 1973 he married Vicki A. Raymond. She survives at home. Walter was an active member & Vice President of St. Rocco’s Society of Beacon. He was also a member of the Elks Club of Beacon for 36 years. He worked hard as a Co-Manager at the A&P for 44 years. He loved to fish & play golf. He was also a loving, devoted, supportive husband, father, grandfather, & friend. He was loved by all who had the chance to know him and will be missed greatly. He leaves behind his beloved wife Vicki Baxter, who survives him at home, his daughter Melissa Baxter of Beacon, his daughter Andrea Martinez & son in law Stephen Martinez of Wappingers Falls, his daughter Sarah Baxter & fiance Christopher Sklenar of Beacon, much loved grandchildren, Tyler Baxter, Bradley Jolly, Adam Jolly Jr., Kayleigh Martinez, Dylan Sklenar, and Nicholas Sklenar, his brother Daniel Baxter & his wife Mary Baxter of Galway, NY, brother Frank Baxter of Beacon, brother Arthur Baxter of Norway, brother Maurice Baxter of Beacon, brother Joseph Baxter of Beacon, and many nieces and nephews. Vistation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Beacon.
