Beacon, NY

William Joseph Faiella, a life-long Beacon resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 17, 2022 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY; at the age of 47. He was born July 9, 1975 in Cold Spring, NY, son of Johnna (Sicilian) Kelly. William graduated from the New York Military Academy in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY in1993 with highest honors, the Superintendent’s sword and scholarships. Bill was a proud member of his military band at school, as a Drummer. He later attended Monmouth University in NJ.

On September 29, 2001 at St. Joachim Church in Beacon, he married Rachel Alejandro, who survives him at home with their daughters. His wife and children were the great loves of his life.

William, affectionately known by family & friends as Billy, worked as a carpenter for 5 years with the Metro-North Railroad from Croton-Harmon, NY. He also worked in construction, as a union painter.

Billy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking & hiking. Unfortunately, his diagnosis took him away from these hobbies. However, he was adamant that he would one day ‘walk in the woods again’. It brings the family great comfort knowing that he is doing just that.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Rachel; his mother, Johnna Kelly and husband, Tom; his two daughters, Alexandria and Willow Faiella; his sister, Mary DeBello and husband, Wayne; his brother, Robert Faiella and wife, Jennifer; his three nieces, Taylor and Julianna DeBello and Elizabeth Green. He is also survived by his half sister, Melissa Sams, her son, Christian and husband, Jay ; many dear friends, with a special mention of his loving dog, Bean and cat, Lucas.

His Family will receive Friends on Friday, August 19th from 5-9pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:00am, Saturday, August 20th at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon, followed by a private cremation.
