William Kirkup

Kirkup, William Craig of Beacon, entered into rest, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 73. Born November 5, 1943 in Beacon, NY, he was the son of the late William C. and Marguerite Schuder Kirkup. Craig attended Beacon Schools and worked as a Stone Mason until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, as well as a member of VFW Post 666, St. Rocco’s Society, B.P.O. ELKS, and the Beacon Fur, Fin and Feather Hunting Club. Survivors include, his son, Timothy J. Kirkup of Florida, two sisters, Patricia G. Kirkup and her partner Maureen Dillon of Fishkill, and Maureen Kirkup Deol of Manhattan, his brother, Terry D. Kirkup and his wife Patricia E. of Wappingers Falls, as well as grandchildren, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Kristen Kirkup. Visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon. Funeral services will take place Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Washington Ave. Beacon, NY 12508 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or to The Animal Rescue Foundation (A.R.F.) 54 Simmons Lane, Beacon, NY 12508.
