Richard Shoulkin 82, a longtime Beacon resident, passed away suddenly January 20 at St. Lukes Hospital, Newburgh. Born February 11, 1936 in N. Tarrytown, New York. On November 10, 1962 he married Carole Shoulkin of Mamaroneck, NY. They were blessed with two children, a son Edward (Amy) of Wellesley, MA, and daughter Sharon Belton (Bill) of Highland, NY and 3 grandchildren David, Adam and Kyle. He was a professional photographer for many years, sold the business then worked as a Sales Representative for Chas. J. Smith & Co. in Jersey City, NJ. Richard was a member of the Beacon Hebrew Alliance in Beacon NY. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was a member of the Mid-Hudson Woodworkers of the Northeastern Woodworkers Association. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 23 at 11am at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
