William A. Sackel III, age 68, died 12/28/18 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital after a long illness. Bill is survived by sisters Debbie Giorgio (Joseph) of LaGrange, N.Y. and Susan Fry (David) of New Hope, Pa. and many close friends who took care of him during his illness. He loved the cats in his life, Nuisance, Ugly Kitty, Fred and Rosie who were feral rescues he patiently gained trust and much loved. Bill was employed for many years as a master technician in Beacon, N.Y. He loved restoring old cars and building Harley Davidsons. He was known for his amazing sense of humor, kindness to help others, and sharing whatever he could including his home, his vehicles, his friendship and support. His illness was heartbreaking and he would encourage anyone who smokes to STOP NOW! WHEN Bill was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, ONLY FOR THE LOVE OF HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, he quit cold turkey, which added more than 10 years to his life. IT. IS NEVER TOO LATE TO QUIT! Arrangements were entrusted to the professional care of the Libby Funeral Home of Beacon, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY 12508.
